About

"Home-Goods for Heroes" is an initiative designed to support our local veterans as they transition into civilian life. This collaborative effort, spearheaded by a dedicated group of local sponsors and businesses, aims to provide essential home goods to formally unhoused veterans residing at the Volunteers of America of Florida Punta Gorda Veterans Village.

Through the generosity of our community, we will yearly established drop-off locations at participating local businesses and organizations. We invite you to contribute by donating essential home items that will assist these veterans in rebuilding their lives.

The donated items will be presented to the Veterans at the Punta Gorda Veterans Village. The first event was held in December, 2024, and was organized by representatives from the following local businesses:

- Amedisys Home Health Care
- Janice Parmelee & James Hemingway
- SBG Insurance Group
- Sun Harbor Healthcare
- Bert’s Black Widow Harley-Davidson
